The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active is an affordable and lightweight fitness tracker designed for everyday health monitoring, exercise tracking and smart notifications. Display and Design
The Smart Band 9 Active features a 1.47-inch TFT touchscreen with a resolution of 172 × 320 pixels and 247 PPI. One of its improvements over the previous generation is the 60Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling, swiping and navigating menus feel smoother. It supports more than 100 watch faces, allowing you to customize the appearance of the band.
The band is designed to be extremely lightweight. The main band body weighs only 16.5g without the strap and is approximately 9.99mm thick, making it comfortable for all-day and overnight wear. The TPU strap is adjustable from approximately 135–215mm.
Health Monitoring
The Smart Band 9 Active provides several useful health and wellness features. It can monitor heart rate, blood oxygen (SpO₂), sleep and stress levels. It also supports women's health management through the Mi Fitness app. These features are intended for wellness and personal reference rather than medical diagnosis.
Its sleep-tracking functions can provide information about your sleeping patterns, while continuous heart-rate monitoring can help you follow changes in your heart rate throughout the day.
Fitness and Sports Tracking
For people who exercise regularly, the band supports 50 sports modes. These include activities such as running, outdoor cycling and rowing, with the band recording relevant workout information and exercise metrics.
One important limitation is that the Smart Band 9 Active does not have built-in GPS. For location tracking during outdoor activities, it relies on the connected smartphone.
Battery Life
Battery life is one of the biggest advantages of the Smart Band 9 Active. Its 300mAh battery can provide up to 18 days under typical usage, while Xiaomi specifies around 9 days under heavy-load usage. Charging is done using the supplied magnetic charging cable and takes less than two hours.
This long battery life means you can wear it continuously for days without needing to charge it every night.
Water Resistance
The band has a 5ATM water-resistance rating, meaning it is designed to withstand water pressure equivalent to a depth of up to 50 metres under specified testing conditions. This makes it suitable for activities such as swimming and everyday exposure to water.
Smart Features
Beyond fitness tracking, the band can display smartphone notifications and provide useful everyday tools. Features include music controls, weather information, alarms, timers, stopwatch, flashlight, event reminders and Find Phone.
