At the heart of the MacBook Air M3 is Apple's M3 chip, built with an 8-core CPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. The 13-inch model can be configured with an 8-core or 10-core GPU, while the 15-inch model comes with a 10-core GPU. The chip also supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing and dedicated media engines for video processing.

Display
The 13-inch MacBook Air M3 has a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display with a 2560 × 1664 resolution, 224 pixels per inch and up to 500 nits brightness. It supports True Tone, P3 wide colour and up to one billion colours.
For users who prefer a larger workspace, the 15-inch model has a 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display with a 2880 × 1864 resolution.
Memory and Storage
The MacBook Air M3 was offered with 8GB, 16GB or 24GB unified memory, depending on configuration. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB SSD.
For most users, 16GB RAM with 512GB storage is a particularly good configuration because it provides more room for multitasking and files than the base model.
Battery Life
Battery life is one of the MacBook Air M3's strongest features. Apple rates it for up to 18 hours of Apple TV app movie playback and up to 15 hours of wireless web use, although actual battery life depends on applications, brightness, connectivity and workload.
The 13-inch model has a 52.6Wh battery, while the 15-inch version uses a larger 66.5Wh battery. Both support MagSafe 3 charging and fast charging with a compatible 70W USB-C power adapter.
Ports and Connectivity
The MacBook Air M3 includes two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports, a MagSafe 3 charging port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports support charging, DisplayPort and high-speed data transfer.
Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
Camera, Audio and Security
For video calls, the laptop features a 1080p FaceTime HD camera and a three-microphone array with directional beamforming. The four-speaker system supports Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos, providing better sound for movies, music and video calls.
Security is handled through Touch ID, which can be used for unlocking the Mac, authentication and supported payments.
