The Samsung HW-B650D is a 370W 3.1-channel soundbar system with a wireless subwoofer, designed to provide a significant audio upgrade over built-in TV speakers. 370W Powerful Sound
With 370W total power, the HW-B650D provides considerably more powerful audio than most television speakers. Its 3.1-channel configuration consists of left and right channels, a dedicated centre channel and a separate bass channel through the wireless subwoofer. Samsung lists four speakers in total, including the centre speaker and wireless subwoofer.
The system is well suited to medium-sized living rooms and entertainment areas where you want fuller and louder sound without installing a complete home-theatre speaker system.
Dolby Audio & DTS Virtual:X
The HW-B650D supports Dolby 5.1-channel audio and DTS Virtual:X. DTS Virtual:X uses digital processing to create a wider, more three-dimensional sound experience from the soundbar. Compatible content can therefore sound more spacious than ordinary stereo audio.
It is important to note that this is not a true Dolby Atmos soundbar with dedicated upward-firing Atmos speakers. Instead, it creates a virtual surround effect through audio processing.
Built-In Centre Speaker
One of the most useful features is the dedicated centre speaker. It is designed primarily for dialogue, helping voices remain clear and distinct from background music and sound effects.
The HW-B650D also includes Voice Enhance Mode, which can further improve speech clarity. This makes it particularly useful for movies, news, sports and television programmes where clear dialogue is important.
Wireless Subwoofer & Bass Boost
The included wireless subwoofer adds the deep bass that a compact soundbar cannot easily reproduce on its own. It gives movies and music greater impact, particularly during explosions, action scenes, drums and bass-heavy tracks.
The Bass Boost mode allows you to emphasize low-frequency effects when you want a stronger, more powerful bass experience.
Adaptive Sound
Adaptive Sound automatically optimizes the audio depending on the content being played. This can help balance voices, music and effects across different types of programmes.
