The TCL S55H 2.1-channel Pro Super Bass Soundbar is a compact yet powerful home-audio system designed to provide a major improvement over standard TV speakers. It combines a soundbar with a wireless subwoofer, Dolby Atmos, DTS Virtual:X and TCL's specialized bass-enhancement technologies. It is particularly suitable for movies, music, gaming and everyday TV viewing.
Powerful 2.1-Channel Sound
The S55H uses a 2.1-channel configuration, consisting of left and right audio channels plus a dedicated wireless subwoofer. TCL lists 220W maximum output power, while the wireless subwoofer itself is rated at 120W peak power.
This combination gives the soundbar considerably more bass and volume than typical built-in TV speakers.
Super Bass System
Bass is one of the main selling points of the S55H. TCL uses a Dual Bass System together with Dual Horn Echo Chambers to enhance low-frequency performance.
The two horn-shaped acoustic chambers work with the soundbar's speakers to amplify bass and reduce unwanted resonance. TCL says the system can provide a bass experience equivalent to a 50W subwoofer, while the separate wireless subwoofer adds even deeper low-frequency performance.
Wireless Subwoofer
The included 120W wireless subwoofer gives movies, music and games greater impact. Because it connects wirelessly, you can position it separately from the soundbar without running an audio cable between the two.
This is especially useful for action movies, music with strong bass and gaming.
Dolby Atmos
Despite being a 2.1-channel system, the S55H supports Dolby Atmos, allowing compatible content to produce a more immersive and spacious sound experience.
It is important to note that the S55H does not have dedicated physical upward-firing Atmos speakers. Instead, it uses audio processing to create its immersive effect.
When paired with a compatible TCL TV featuring upward-firing speakers, TCL's Tutti Choral technology can combine the TV and soundbar to create at least a 2.1.2-channel experience.
DTS Virtual:X
The S55H also supports DTS Virtual:X, which digitally expands the perceived soundstage. This can make movies and games sound wider and more immersive than conventional stereo playback.
Clear and Detailed Sound
The soundbar uses a Hi-Fi speaker with a UKP diaphragm and rubber suspension, designed to provide clear vocals, smooth frequency response and stronger low-frequency extension.
TCL also uses Golden Ear Tuning, with the aim of balancing bass depth, detail and overall sound clarity.
AI Sonic-Adaptation
The AI Sonic-Adaptation feature adjusts the sound according to the acoustic characteristics of your environment. This helps the soundbar produce a more suitable audio presentation depending on the room.
