85-Inch 4K Display
The biggest attraction is obviously the 85-inch screen. With 4K resolution, the TV delivers 3,840 × 2,160 pixels, providing plenty of detail for movies, sports, YouTube and streaming services.
The Crystal Processor 4K also performs 4K upscaling, helping lower-resolution content look cleaner and sharper on the very large screen. Samsung also includes UHD Dimming, Contrast Enhancer and Color Booster to improve the overall picture presentation.
It supports HDR10+, which can provide better contrast and highlight/shadow detail when watching compatible HDR content.
🎬 Great for Movies & Streaming
The large screen makes the 85U800F particularly suitable for a dedicated entertainment room or large living room. Filmmaker Mode is included for viewers who want compatible movies to be displayed closer to the creator's intended presentation.
The TV runs Tizen, Samsung's smart-TV platform. You get access to streaming apps, a web browser, SmartThings features and Apple AirPlay support, although exact services and features can vary by region.
🎮 Gaming
For gaming, the TV includes ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate). Its HDMI connections support up to 4K at 60Hz.
It's therefore a good option for casual PlayStation, Xbox and other console gaming. However, if you're specifically looking for 120Hz gaming, this isn't the model to choose.
🔊 Sound
Samsung provides a 20W 2-channel speaker system. It supports OTS Lite, which attempts to position sound according to what's happening on screen, as well as Q-Symphony, which allows compatible Samsung soundbars to work together with the TV speakers.
For a TV this large, I would recommend adding a soundbar if you want stronger bass and a more cinematic experience.

The 85-inch U800F has Samsung's MetalStream design with a three-bezel-less appearance. Without the stand, the TV measures approximately 1,890 × 1,084 × 77 mm. The VESA mounting specification is 400 × 300 mm.
